Biking

Today was Honey's second off day, and he happened to be not so busy with his business in the side so I had thought of asking him for a biking exercise by the trail in the neighborhood, and he obliged. There are two mountain bikes in this house and I figured it would be nice if they'd be put to use once in a while like today. Since the DST, the sun is up until before 8 in the evening so it was perfect when we went for a bike at 5 p.m. and finished a little after 6:30. At least I had my exercise after two weeks of slacking. Honey's got his weekly exercise this Sunday but unfortunately I couldn't go.

It was a nice sight over there in the creek. We went to the Guadalupe Creek Trail as we live close by. I took some photos using my Nokia e71 so I could share them with you...

I found out I wasn't that good in biking anymore, I had a hard time turning! I was really scared when we had to cross the highway, though the light was on green, I just couldn't help to make a full stop every time I reach a curb and make a turn. Good thing I was alright after all. It has been four months since I last put my hands on a steering wheel, and I am now becoming doubtful of driving a car again...

This is just it for today, Honey and I still have to get dinner ready. ;)

Paranormal Activity: The Ordeal

Honey borrowed Paranormal Activity from the library last week and tonight will be our third attempt to finish the movie. Whoever wants to finish it when it makes you jumpy for being home all alone!

Good luck...

I hope I would not be having trouble later during my midnight pees.

I hope I could shut down peripheral views by the hallway.

I hope I would not be left alone at home tomorrow!

I hope I could have somebody with me everyday when darkness starts to eat up!

All hopes!

This is fake courage I'm dealing with, I'm half-hearted to finish this movie but we just have to I guess... For the sake of our late night movie sessions.

Biometrics Done!

March 14: my official appointment to the local USCIS office to have my fingerprinting.

Like I could already see my future! Biometrics is the second to the last step (if I am not mistaken) that I would have to go through before I complete my Adjustment of Status to Permanent Resident, and my application for Work Authorization, and Advance Parole for Travel Document! The process was quick and the office is big enough to accommodate a companion should you be needing to bring somebody with you.

I am counting the days! I can't wait for my Work Authorization to arrive!

Photobucket

Do you want to enjoy your life but is limited to budget? Worry no more! Groupon is just around the corner waiting for you to find great deals! Here's an introductory video that elaborates how Groupon operates:

I just realized that Groupon offers are just so perfect for us newlyweds! We could explore whatever things and places together at a fraction of a price! How great is that? There are a lot of good explorable things and places in San Jose that we want to do or visit, but without Groupon, it is way too luxurious that we would just end up saying to each other, maybe next time, but with Groupon offers hanging in the corner, we could actually get on the things we want to do and visit the places we want to go without worrying too much about money! With Groupon, we are always assured of a great deal, and you wouldn't find these great deals anywhere!

Groupon is also one perfect idea for a gift to someone dear to your heart. I am actually thinking of buying Groupon coupons as a wedding present to my cousin comes August! I will have to check out great deals in New York by that time, and hopefully they will have something that could make the newlyweds feel special.

Groupon is present around the world! I'm excited to schedule activities on our planned vacation in the Philippines on the 4rth quarter! The deals are just uber!!!

So what else are you waiting for? Get your Groupon now!

The All New Apple iPad 2

Yesterday was the day iPad 2 was officially released. Announcement about the release was made the day before but I heard it hardly made a noise to the world because of the unfortunate tsunami that hit Japan which was all over everywhere. Yesterday was also the day I first experienced lining up for a techie gadget along with other thousands of gadget freaks who were there since morning just to be the first to get the new iPad 2. People from all walks of life, young and old are there to get their iPad 2. In our case, we lined up for business. Honey has this friend who's helped him get on his electronics in eBay, so yesterday, Honey tried to help his friend get as many iPad 2 as possible so they can sell it, having the usual wisest concept in mind that the more iPad 2 they get ahead of others, the more profit. Yesterday was the best time to get it as normally it will take two weeks to replenish stocks the day after iPad 2's release, and true enough, today the Apple store is crowded not because there is a business-to-consumer transaction going on there, but it was crowded of people left a day behind who've got inquiries as to when the next stocks of iPad 2 will arrive. Concept of demand and supply: Honey's friend could sell it at higher price at this very moment as people are willing to pay for it because everybody is just crazy about it and they want to get it as fast as they can! After almost forever of falling in line, at the end of the day Honey's team bagged 11 pieces of iPad 2, but despite of that Honey's friend was still frustrated to have gathered only 17 pieces all in all. There was two iPad 2 per person limit implemented yesterday in the Apple store, and 1 per person limit at Best Buy, and unfortunately, Honey's friend along with his six other trusted acquaintances lined up in Best Buy. I know. That was adrenaline rush out there and nobody thought about the ticket guy. Nevertheless, Honey's friend has got a backup plan, as always.

I still wonder what's with this iPad, why people are so crazy about it? Isn't a laptop enough these days? I for one won't write an iPad 2 in my wishlist, I've got a laptop and it still works for me. Is it really important to get it only because having the latest iPad makes a person cool? Hmmmm...

So I've read, this new iPad 2 is thinner, lighter, and faster, plus a battery of up to 10 hours. It comes in black or white, 16 gig or 32 gig, 3G, 3G+WiFi, AT&T, and Verizon. I would like to commend the cheerful Apple staff yesterday who tried to lift up the impatience from all of us who were in line, thank you very much for trying but we had it, and oh, I was not there when they gave out the complimentary mineral water but damn that was thoughtful! Lastly, that should be overflowing coffee right there instead by the entrance to the store and some cocktails, but probably next time.

Hardcore Evidence : Kiss Mark

That is just how a kiss mark is done! Good thing this photo was taken two years before we got serious... I understand exactly how the hormones of a 23-year old guy could go crazy, but I swear I could kill the bitch who did this! She's lucky there's no way I could get her info, so that saves her.

Honey lost this old license and I thought I could not blog about this anymore, but fortunately he left a scanned copy in my computer. This is to announce to the world that he is no doubt a normal male species!

March Luck or Bad Luck Part 2

This is not good... Bad premonition! Are the devils officially out?

Two nights ago when Honey came home from work, he noticed he lost one unit of phone from his box. He said he remembered getting five from his supplier but when he checked the box he only has four. Then came restlessness. Understandable. That phone was $400 worth. Who in the hell could calm down in the same shituation? It was 12 midnight and he went back to his work without telling me, he came back home still restless then decided we went back to his work again, and again. That was three times within 30 minutes. After searching the van and all the places at work, he decided we'd go check it out at his supplier's place for the hope that maybe he just left it there on top of the table or what. It was an hour or so trip, it was far and it was late! I had to shut up there for a while so he could clear his mind and relax a little bit. Unfortunately though we did not find a phone from the suppliers shop when we peeped from the glass window, and the supplier confirmed it via phone that he was not sure if Honey left a phone at his shop, and that was all we needed to go to our next stop - Great Mall's parking area - and to no avail.

Today after lunch he noticed he also lost his wallet. A day interval is too much to handle. I guess this is really what you call bad luck, or does it come with age???

Bad Luck or March Luck?

I forgot to share that on March 1, before we went to the Restaurant Depot, we stopped by the Post Office in Branham to drop Honey’s eBay shipment. Due to some bad luck, right on the entrance to the parking lot, a Dodge backed up on us thus giving Honey the opportunity for his very first car accident. Was that bad luck or just March luck?

Good thing about America is, people here are always nicer, wherever, whenever. Honey was able to talk to the guy smoothly and settled the exchange of insurance and other information fast. This morning were calls from that guy’s insurance company and Honey’s dad’s insurance company telling him to get an estimate while they are investigating what really happened during the accident. It was a very minor thing though, left fog light was broken, a little scratch in the bumper and a little dent in the hood, but the estimate totaled to $2,600???! On the other hand, there is this one very unfortunate thing about America and that is everything here that requires repair and/or professional service is always expensive. Might as well buy a new car huh? In my estimate, this job would just cost around P5,000 to P10,000 in the Philippines! That is why we just can’t get over the Philippines! If the investigation turns away from our favor then we could just probably buy the fog light and install it, and let the scratch and the dent be, but we are still crossing our fingers for that guy’s insurance to shoulder the repair, it was really that guy’s fault. This car that Honey’s driving got lots of sentimental value already, according to my mother in law, that aside from the fact that it is already 13 years old, it was my father in-law’s car, and my mother in-law named the car after her beloved mother.

What a way to welcome March, but anyway we still have a lot of good vibes coming and we are counting on it!

To the Restaurant Depot

We were inspired to stock up fruits and other kitchen necessities that we decided to raid the Restaurant Depot this afternoon. That was my first time in there and it resembles the wholesaler Makro in the Philippines, only that Restaurant Depot got wider choices and is more expensive when converted to PHP, but here though the price is just alright.

Honey was excited as always to buy fruits for his power juicer that he brought the Jack La Lanne's recipe book with him, and he was like, what else do we have to buy Baby, we have the strawberries right? How about apples? Yeah. We bought one big sack of carrots, pineapples, strawberries, cucumber, and avocado, in addition to the oranges, apples, and grapes we bought in the flea market last Saturday.

Everybody is liking the idea of fresh fruit juice that Honey is glad to indulge all of us. His latest passion: JUICING.

Aside from the fruits, my mother in law also bought a box of meat and a lot more... but the most surprising of all is that she bought a box of medium eggs, like 20 dozens of eggs! Now I'm thinking what to do with those eggs!

Adjustment of Status: Request for Missing Evidence

So I thought I did well with the paper work...

This morning came a letter from the USCIS requesting for a missing evidence in relation to Form I-864 Affidavit of Support. What went wrong was, I only attached Honey's W-2 copy in the application, without the Federal Income Tax return for the last two years. In the letter it says that my sponsor (Honey) did not meet or exceed the 125% for a 2 size household in the poverty guideline and that I was given a choice to have a joint sponsor or declare Honey's asset value. I was confused with how they wrote the letter because as far as the poverty guideline is concerned, the bracket for a 2 size household was only $19,000 more or less yearly income, and we declared more as was declared in Honey's 2010 W-2.

We went to consult our case this afternoon with an immigration attorney just to be enlightened with what the USCIS really meant in the letter, sometimes they have the tendency of overdoing their instructions that it messes up my analysis. Luckily this attorney did not charge us anything for the consultation and just gave us a clear instruction on what to do, that is to file Honey's 2010 Federal Income Tax Return and get the proof of income from his work. That was easy, but when you read the letter from the USCIS, damn what a headache!

We are going to finish everything tomorrow so we could get our missing evidence to the USCIS office before my scheduled biometrics. I so want to work already and I don't want anymore delays!
