Budget

Thanks for the guest post by Donn Schroeder

My husband and I are doing our best to watch our budget lately, as a lot of people are. And by “my husband and I,” I mean “I” am trying to watch my budget. My husband is far better at saving money than I am, as I tend to view money as fairly expendable. It’s something we’re working on slowly, so we’ve been trying to cut costs where we can. I stumbled across DirectStarTV the other day and noticed that we could be saving a lot of money on our TV costs. We’ve had cable since we got married, and I figured out that we could get a ton more channels, plus some pretty awesome movie channels, for less than we’d been spending every month. We made a quick call to make the switch, and it’s been one of the easiest ways we’ve found to save money. I may or may not be spending some of that extra money on shoes, but like I said, I’m working on it. Rome wasn’t built in a day, right? That’s what I tell my husband, at least.

Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now!

Forgive me but I am just doing this for fun! This song has been our favorite in the karaoke, this could really be our theme song now. This video was taken at Rendel's aunt's house during her birthday before Christmas. Honey just loves karaoke, and I don't think he could deny that! It is cool that Honey and I could really team up when it comes to karaoke because I am always on the go too! Take me wherever I would sing no matter what!

Please don't take this video seriously, because I know it wouldn't go far!

Impromptu Korean Dinner

We had time to hang out with friends on a Saturday night about two weeks ago... We left their place at around 1 am and we decided we need more stuffers to survive the evening. We came late to the party and sadly there's not enough food anymore and both of us were looking for rice.

Honey brought me to this Korean place in El Camino Real or Saratoga, that was the place his friends brought him into the night before our wedding. The town just appeared to me like a Korean-infested area as I've seen mostly Korean establishments. Unfortunately I forgot the name of the restaurant, but I will not forget how delighted I was with their great food and service. I would need to write a follow up on this restaurant soon as I get the chance to go back.

I am lucky I had my camera so I had a chance to take some photos:

One thing that makes me fall in love with Korean cuisine is the well prepared side dishes. It is awesome how they compliment the meat and the rice. I have also this impression that their food is healthier because they use lesser oil, and they always have veggies.

We are planning to go to a Korean buffet next Monday for our 1st wedding anniversary. Originally the plan was to have a 5-course dinner in a French Restaurant, but we figured we would not enjoy dressing up for the occasion because we would stay wrapped-up anyway and couldn't show off because its winter. We are sure another occasion will call for another fine dining event and we will see that we won't miss it.

I Have to Get My LOTTO Number!

Recently I have been dreaming of winning the lottery. It is insane yes, especially so because even before I realized that dream, I already have plans on how to spend the money! Oh how that's going to be a big problem for me if in case! My mother-in-law then told me there isn't a chance for me winning it because I dream about it a lot, but who knows?

Is there a formula of picking the best number combinations? I am wondering, but of course there isn't... The chance of winning the lottery is just pure luck and if I won, that means I must really be so so so so so so so so lucky! I am thinking actually of trying two combinations, and I have been planning of getting me a ticket since forever! Honey is just waiting for me but maybe sometime this week I will make up my mind. The first number combination would come from the very first fortune cookie that I got from a buffet restaurant here in America, I mean, who knows that could be it? The second number combination will be important dates to me that is a little different from Honey's important-dates-number combination, just a little swing and I might really win it!

I could only tell you a lot about my plans if I won, but then again that would really just sound absurd right now. If ever too, there is no way that I would announce it here in the first place! So, the best of luck to me!

Dinner in the Car

This happened moments ago...

The story: I spilled my lunch when I was about to reheat it this noon in the office, it was non-stop service at the bank on a Saturday like this and there was a crazy parade in downtown Los Gatos that it was nearly beyond impossible to grab some decent meal outside. I am having my first day of period and I was close to passing out. So, I told Honey that I would get us some Chinese food for dinner, and he suggested that we eat it in the car outside where he works, and I was like hmmmm, that's something new for us so I went for it!

It was like a romantic dinner kind of like a picnic of some sort, we laid the packaged food on the hood and started dinner inside the car. It was a cold autumn night but for two hungry people, it was the best place to be in the whole wide world!

I don't know, but I got a kiss before I drove home and it was just the sweetest! I am in love, and should you wonder why? =)

In N Out Burger Dinner Treat

Last night came as a surprise, shortly after I got home, Honey gave me a call and asked if I wanted burger, but actually I wanted burger + fries and didn't mention about the soda. All the while I thought he was just in the nearby McDonalds outside the house so I wasn't that enthusiastic, but minutes later I saw an In N Out burger meal!!! Weeeee!!! I mean, that was the best dinner treat! Honey is the sweetest, I wonder why... Haha!

Did I mention that In N Out has got the best fries in the whole wide world?! Their fries is just awesome! I wouldn't trade it for any other fries, I swear! It's fresh, its crunchy, and it has a distinct taste of its own that I love. This burger joint is really famous for its best burgers and top notch service. I'd say they picked the perfect name for their business, people just keep on coming In N Out all day until night! Highly recommended! Really...

So this thing about honey treating me to some dinner is not really that odd, I'm taking back my wondering in the first paragraph. That is just how he treats his wife, or else!

Trying Mohawk

For a change...

So I was able to convince Honeypie my sweetypie to try the mohawk cut. It has been like forever since I last saw him with hair, and I swear he really looks good with some hair! It was only 4 years ago that he decided to stop growing his hair and stick to home remedy shavers. He still looks good to me of course, but I wanted to add a twist into his hair fashion. It was just one of those days that I wanted him to wear an earring, a V-neck shirt, acid-washed worn-out jeans, and citrus cologne. I mean, can I avoid it? I just wanted him to look good.

I don't have the pictures here yet since we are trying to get used to his mohawk cut. We are getting there though, we got the haircut on Sunday, November 20. Give me 2 weeks to a month and I'll be able to show some visual updates... Until then!

Honey is Sick

It all started when he ate a pancake with a lot of sweet tasteful syrup behind my back. Well obviously you'd get a sore throat that could turn into a fever and hard dry cough.

I had a Sunday and Monday off last weekend, same as Honey's, and he was like I just want to sleep and play Pumpkins vs. Monsters...

Well, he said he is feeling little by little everyday, but he's not yet all pumped up. Ya better get well for the 49ers game in SFO on Sunday! Picture picture! Pak!

My First Year Anniversary in America!

I recall the noisy streets of Manila, the tasteless feeling of being at work awaiting for freedom, and all the other last minute preparations before I came here...

It was not a smooth ride, it was a 14-months wait, but as I've always said, it was all worth it, until at last the immigration sent me my US Visa...

I arrived here 7 pm on November 15, my port of entry, San Francisco... Here are some of the photos that night...

I remember my sleepless 14-hours flight from Manila to San Francisco, how I felt so blank and uneasy, blank stare and crying from time to time. I didn't want to leave my mom there, and it was so hard seeing her cry and cry until she let go of me, especially so because that was the first time I've seen her cried that hard, and she was so helpless.

I remember how I felt as I saw the lights of San Francisco as the plane descended, I remember the clean smell of the surroundings, and I remember the first cold clean breeze of that one Autumn evening. That night was so priceless, it was the long awaited moment that put closure to the long distance love affair, and it was the sweetest day for me!

Today, Honey is supposedly to buy me my first year anniversary presents, but I thought he didn't really know huh?

Wishlist:

1. Beautiful, 3.4oz
2. Pleasures, 3.4 oz
3. PSP color red, touch screen
4. Diamond Earrings
5. Gucci Shades
6. Gucci Bag

*** I accept accumulated presents since Christmas is on its way... I will gladly accept them all in bulk, I certainly got it!

The Piggy Bank's Status

I just so want to share this childish attempt of my husband! Can you imagine this?!!! I am not taking a look inside alright! I bet there's still $40 in there as of the moment, haha!

Wedding Ring

Lately, there is a need for me to wear my ring to work.

When we got married on January, Honey and I didn't put that much effort on finding our rings. We picked our rings only to have something to put on during the ceremony, without the intent of wearing them everyday. It was almost Thanksgiving Day when I arrived and it was when we shopped for our rings.

We picked 19k cubic zirconia rings for about $150 already for the both of us. I intentionally did not pick a band because I just wanted a ring that is not too boring, and one that wouldn't look like a wedding ring at all. Guess what, now I am super regretting it!

Here's what is going on lately, there are guys that have been hitting on me at my work and I am not liking it. Being at the service side of the boat, my job is to engage customers in a conversation and be friendly and always smile, but I do not flirt. I don't think I am capable of flirting at all. Occasionally I insert personal stories just so I could mention my "husband" and let them know that I am married, and I thought I have been successful.

I didn't know that wearing a ring is a big deal here in America. So I would hear, you're married? You're not wearing a ring! Yes I am married and I am happy, I would say.

So yesterday, I started to wear my ring again. Actually I have been wearing both rings since Honey is not using his ring so I use both so I could get them sit in my finger comfortably. They are just not the right fit for me, unfortunately. I wear them both so it would look legit, its like an engagement and a wedding ring. Unfortunately again, I have to wear them in my right finger, the wrong side, since it will not fit my left finger. Whew! This is all becoming all to sweaty for me!

Plan: To get legit wedding rings in the Philippines as soon as possible! In there it is cheaper, and in there it is already custom-made. When will that day be realized oh Lord?!!!

***By the way, today is the mark of this blog's third year, so happy birthday my dear blog! 11-11-11!

Honey's Latest Activity

Surfing. I don't know if I'm liking it or if I am just trying hard to not like it. I can't take away the awakening fear of sharks hanging around the corner and the possibility of big strong waves that can throw him out against the big rocks. Is fear a common thing for a wife? Or is it only that my husband just married a freaking paranoid?

So I'm putting all the drama that I could just to keep him from surfing. The thing is, he starts work at 3 in the afternoon until 11 in the evening, so he has hours during the day to escape, while I am of course at my 9-6 job. He does his football during the weekends, though it lately has been down to only Saturdays, and for me, one surfing session during the week should be enough. Hah! If I could just stay home and watch him just sit there, but he just isn't the type who would sit around while he can still do something better. It is good exercise alright, I can't argue with that, but I am just a paranoid, is that so hard to put up with?!

Here's another thing, the weather is getting colder, but he still goes to Santa Cruz with my brother in law, and I thought the weather could put a stop to this latest craze! Who ever invented this insulated wet suit?!!! Well, he is not cold that's what he says... Humming...

Honeyfied New Look... Again

Yeah buddy.... and I messed it up, obviously. I couldn't figure out how to place that photo of ours at the center. It's nice that I have that lines in the background, it kind of hides the imperfection of my layout, if it at all does haha! I'm bored, and I am giving the readers a hard time with my newly-found font style. I just want a girly look right now, and I have no clue until when this is going to last!

This blog is supposed to be alive, so I will not tire of reinventing this time and again.

On my 28th!

Nothing fancy, as usual, as with my past birthdays... This is the very first birthday spent with Honey though. I knew I didn't want to host a party, inviting people over at the house is pretty awkward, especially so because I am not really sure if I like them to share my day, so I kept close people, my Honey and Mother-in-law only, (the brother in-law and the girlfriend had to work) and spent the whole day in San Francisco...

Originally, I still have to explore the rest of San Francisco, and I thought we would finish everything yesterday, but not quite, there are still a few remaining activities to look forward to and places to go...

So we went at a Korean Resto for lunch, spent a few hours and not quite a few bucks at the Zoo in the hope of seeing a silver back gorilla, but it was not there... visited the Palace of Fine Arts, The World's Most Crooked Road, The Ghirardelli Square, and lastly, Coit Tower. Overall, it was worth it, especially so with the photos that we took.

So as you all know, I advanced my birthday gift already, my Nikon D700 (a split between me and Honey), and may I say that I really really do love it! I would really cherish every shot that we take and I can't wait to make a photo album story! It is the best DSLR yet, really really AMAZING.

Now I am 28, two more years before I say goodbye to the 2-series. I would love to get serious with the plan of having a baby soon, right after the fancy US tours and cruises, and some Europe adventures!

My month would soon be over, and I am looking forward to my 29th!

Green Card Arrived in the Mail!

At last! After 48 years I am legit! Though the journey was bumpy and the wait was painfully over delayed, the feel of the actual green card is worth it! In times when USCIS delayed my papers, the office of Congressman Lofgren never failed me.

It's funny how they call this a green card, I am lazy to dig in the history as of the moment, but literally though, its barely green, it is a lifeless washed green!

I am just happy that they got my name correct now. At least I am confident to move around here already, got my California Driver License and my Green Card already and both are in my married name! AWESOME!!!

Honey's Exercise Ordeal

As promised, I am giving you an update.

We have a deal that Honey should lose weight before we have our little photo shoot. So far, he has been consistent with his football on weekends, and added to that, he bought a punching bag so he could literally lose weight WHILE STILL EATING WHAT HE LIKES TO EAT AT ANYTIME.

So... Today is my dayoff, and I had the chance to take photos of him in the patio doing his thing...

In addition to that punching bag, there is also this little exercise machine sitting in there that I only know as "The Health Rider"...

I also use the health rider when I am in the mood for some exercise, I do 500 crunches in a day. The health rider actually works your whole body.

I also would not like to discount the fact that Honey bought a set of this DVD called "Beach Body"...

The Beach Body includes five workouts: Total Body, Lower Body, Abs, Cardio, and Yoga Flex. I have to be honest that making Beach Body a daily routine is really an ordeal, I tried it a couple of times because I want to get rid of the baby fat in my thighs, and the rest of the times I just ignore it. I'd rather ignore it than do it, its a 10-minute exercise per workout category and it really sweats you out! The day after I'd be sore all over and I still have to wear high heels to work, and that makes it not fun.

Honey can really be self-disciplined, when he says he'll do it, he will find time for it so he can do it. I hope when the photo shoot day arrives, he will be in good shape, he did it last year, I am sure he can do it this time.

Nikon D7000 Update

I just placed my order!

Two days ago I discovered the huge sale around the internet. I have had enough positive reviews out of D7000 that I was convinced enough to buy it by hook or by crook. As planned, I already advanced my supposed to be birthday gift =) It is a split between us lovebirds, but that's alright, no complaints, at least naay ka split!

My order will come in a 17-pc kit, all accessories included plus 2 lenses. It was really a good deal. It was for $1500 all in all, free shipping, tax free, brand new sealed in a box, comes with the manufacturer's warranty. The processing time is 24-72 hours and the ground shipping 7-9 days. I am crossing my fingers that my new baby will arrive before we go LA. It better be!

I have decided that this new baby will be hands-off to anybody but us, and will be treated like a princess. I recall my first digital camera mishap, I had a Canon digital camera custom ordered in Japan years and years back, a friend borrowed it and the next thing I noticed the LCD was broken. I decided to keep everybody off the hook, I can't afford this thing to not last!

I Got A Weekend Off!

Finally! After dealing with a lot of negotiating, I confirmed this afternoon that I am getting a 2-day off! Los Angeles here we come! --- its not San Francisco anymore, I figured I wanted somewhere far.

Honey's going to be in Florida next week to attend his friend's bachelor's party, he will be gone for 3 days, and the weekend right after will be our precious lover's escapade! This is part of renewing the lover's bond to make the world go round, we couldn't just work too hard and not enjoy it!

So, therefore, I am thinking what we could do for those 2 days. I am thinking of going Disneyland, have a photo taken at the famous Hollywood sign, visit The Avenue of the Stars, and uhmmmm... the rest I still have to search on!

Unlike San Francisco, where it is always winter, Los Angeles' weather is overly agreeable so I could use my summer clothes, no sweat. All I could think about are the photos that we are going to take together, you'd probably not gonna see it on Facebook, but I sure will post some here.

Excited!

Our September: First Strike

So we planned to go shopping.

Yesterday, Labor day, was the smartest day to implement the plan. Oh how I love America! Did I tell you that shopping here during vast sale events is really AWESOME? Or beyond that! Items really go on TRUE SALE, and these items are always great finds!

Before we hit the factory outlet in Milpitas, we stopped over at our favorite buffet place in Sunnyvale, it was to prepare our body for the long and endless hours of walking around that big box! The Sunny Buffet is really becoming my favorite, what with its meaty crabs and delicious mushrooms! Yum!

Labor day by the way is not your usual shopping day, as expected, parking was scarce. Honey and me, together with my mother-in-law hit the mall at 2pm. I'd say that I am really picky when it comes to shopping, I have this particular thing in mind that I want to buy and that is what I search for when shopping, and I won't settle for anything else, unless I find a really appealing stuff, or worse, when I had to go home empty-handed, like what almost happened yesterday.

The story...

When we entered the mall, we stopped at PacSun first, a retail outlet that sells brands like Billabong, O'Neill, Roxy, Fox and their own brand. I wasn't surprised that Honey did not come out empty handed - it was where he found his 3 pairs of shorts, and maybe 5 or so pieces of shirts, my mother-in-law also got herself something. It was crazy, the store was selling items on BOGO (Buy One, Get One half the price) already, plus an additional 30% discount upon checkout, I mean, how cool is that?! Another good thing about America is, we can easily afford material things without working too hard on it, or saving months and months for it, we could get it whenever we want to as long as we are getting our paycheck. Yesterday, a day or two worth or work is enough to cover what we bought for ourselves actually, and of course, we were already very happy.

But... there was almost a mishap. 5 hours passed by and I still only have that 1 piece of dress from Hollister (original price was $39, on sale at $16, plus an extra 40% at checkout, and I only paid $9), I swear my mood turned bitter! I almost bought myself another set of undies or a bottle of perfume just so I would not go home empty-handed! Looking at Honey and mother-in-law just picking whatever they see really pissed me off! So I raised the red flag, and we were on our way to Macy's at the last hour, from Milpitas to Oakridge.

I was thinking to get me a pair of sunglasses or make-up, but then I decided to go for the make-up. I thought it was about time to stop buying drugstore cosmetics, I have been on them since the day I learned how to put them on... Though it was really quite a splurge, and I signed up again for another credit card just to get an extra 15% from my purchase, I went home a happy baby. =)

When I tried to put on that dress I bought from Hollister and it was really really so beautiful, Honey was about in time to decide he'll return an item or two (here goes another interesting story by the way, he bought 3 pairs of cargo pants at Old Navy, but all he wanted was the belt that comes free with them), and so I told him to get me another 3 pieces, and now I have 4 of them! I am ready for Philippines!

I Missed August!

...going back, August came and left without a warning. Since I got on this other job, it has been work and work for me, and Honey's on to his 2 jobs as well. There is still a thin line left in between for this shituation to be manageable, and for that I'm glad.

Life according to Honey, is becoming a routine - BORING.

So tonight, there will be a meeting about what to do two weeks from now. Since I am meeting my cousin in San Francisco, we would be planning a stay at the city and tour it and spend the night there somewhere. On August, we spent two trips with the family to do some crabbing at the pier by the Golden Gate, but we figured we missed a lot of fun stuff so therefore we're gonna pick it from there. Next month, my birthday month (yipee! excited for my DSLR) I hope we could go Vegas or Los Angeles, I really hope! I think I deserve a long weekend at work for my birthday!

I don't intend to skip posts, it is just that, when I get home from work, during the past weeks, I was busy catching up with "Minsan Lang Kitang Iibigin" on tv, and I swear I've been missing it since the finale.

Here is a list of the remaining updates that I should be dwelling on the next posts:

1. Honey's exercise ordeal
2. My dream bed set
3. The savings plan
4. My birthday gift haha! A DSLR - working too hard to get a Nikon D7000, and I swear I would not settle for anything less!

Now it is the unfortunate time to fix our room and fix myself right after. The Chinese food was really great, even though I spent $30 for two servings!

Gatorade in The Fridge

It is almost like a collection now. Maybe Honey just didn't notice there are two bottles left, but then he bought four more which makes it all six. Definitely the thirst quencher for my football superstar. Its football weekend!

"An Umbrella That Fakes the Sunshine"

Guest post written by Rachel Blunt

I really hate rainy weather. I think that most people say that they hate rainy weather, but people really don't understand just how much I hate rainy weather. I have naturally curly hair and anyone that has the same understands that rain and humidity is your worse enemy. It takes a lot to tame my curls and if the weather is wet or humid, it seems to undo all of my hard work. So I take an umbrella with me no matter where I go and the weather forecast.

But my umbrella takes quite a beating and I want to find one that's a little more neutral than the zebra print one that I have now. I went online to find a good umbrella and while I was looking online I came across some fantastic offer that I had to take advantage of and signed up for one of them for my home internet service.

I did find a nice charcoal gray umbrella that folds up really small. I can take it anywhere with me and I can even use it going to work and feel professional.

So Cute

Uhummmmmmm! Look at that, a shot with Rica Peralejo? Nice one Honeypie... Haha! My mother in law has been telling me about this photo since forever and now that she found it last, I couldn't help myself but post it!

Can I post a photo of me and Gerald Anderson too? Haha!

Honey's Dead Nails

Unfortunately, my football superstar got injured on Sunday. This is it, it still hurts two days after, and he is hoping it will get better before the next weekend. My Honey isn't missing a football game, whatever it takes!

Scrabble Free!

Lately...

I asked Honey to leave one of his iPhones this weekend so I could continue my Words With Friends Game with my random opponents in Facebook. Who would've thought he'd be interested in words too?

Here is a revelation, Honey hates spelling! Spelling is his weakest link! =)

In my thirst to look for a regular opponent, Honey downloaded Scrabble Free last night so I don't have to wait for somebody to play with... Sweet!

This game is really addictive i tell you!

Piggy Bank

That is Honey's piggy standing on our bed. He has been filling it with some for days now. He purposely used this piggy instead of just putting the money onto our joint savings account to be unconscious of the money he's currently got which he is saving up for a vacation to the Philippines. I talked him out of setting aside $200 for each of us every month to the savings account, and we are doing only $170 plus his personal piggy bank.

I swear I'd rather tour the US! Problem is, it is really hard to take a break from work, so that my Paid Time Off is just reserved for emergencies. We can still do some traveling around here because occasionally I get a three-day weekend at work, and Honey could just ask for a leave anytime, his work is that lenient.

Honey told me not to peek into the piggy, but I was tempted to this morning. When he told me this afternoon he's saved up a lot in the piggy already, I wasn't able to hold back and told him yeah right, $40 to be exact, haha!

Save! Save! Save! We want to go Caribbean!

Some Old Things Have To Go

Or not really...

Let me show an old pair of Nike Air Force 1...This had been Honey's shoes for three or so years...

Honey had been using the above shoes for quite some time already, it could pass for an antique collection by the look of it! First seen it in 2008, but he actually had one other pair of this shoe design but of another color but unfortunately it has to go first.

Me and my mother in law have been suggesting for Honey to get a new pair of shoes, but he wasn't listening for the reason that he is already comfortable using this shoes and that they've been together anywhere - so there is this kind of emotional attachment to this shoes that he couldn't let it go... He gave away a few couple of shoes to his relatives in the Philippines, I was shocked the moment I saw his closet as he brought like 10 pairs of shoes all in all during his vacation three years ago! Then all of a sudden, the shoe fanatic just settled for the above shoes, and he didn't care.

I have to agree with the comfort part you know, and maybe I have to agree a little on the emotional attachment part as well. I have some shoes or slippers that have been with me for a longer period of time, only that, I don't wear them everyday so I have a reason to keep them right?

For Honey's birthday I had talked him out to buy him two pairs of about the same kind of shoes as my birthday gift, and he agreed. I thought we could get rid of this red shoes already but for some reason sentimental, I still find this shoes in the shoe rack by the door! The very reason why I couldn't help myself from posting it here, hehe...

20110626

Philippines Here We Come???

October or November 2011, just because it was written within the 1 year goal, it couldn't be ignored!

Honey so wants to go to the Philippines for vacation this year, I had a feeling I couldn't go because I am new at work, and though I have 18 days paid time off from work, it might be that others are already scheduled for a vacation on this period... I have 18 days paid time off from work but the problem is I don't have my own money to pay for the ticket, which price by the way is soooo crazy! I told Honey I would just cry.

Going to the Philippines this year is not really my favorite topic. Maybe it will be when I get another part time job, or if I would be allowed to take 3 weeks to a month from my current job. I don't feel that it is the time for me to go back to the Philippine yet, though I would really love to if given the lenience.

Learning the Guitar

I could play less than 10 chords, most are open chords and some simple flats and sharps. I've learned how to strum the guitar from church back in the olden days...

Honey has a guitar sitting on top of the cabinet just outside our door, and I never thought his guitar isn't cheap! So, I took it out and have it in our room for inspiration, so it could be put to use and have both of us learn some songs to play. Cool right? By the way, here is a photo of the now USEFUL guitar, I was amazed it was actually in tune haha!

Two days ago Honey had to play football with some newbies at the PayPal field and I decided to come but I stayed in the car with the guitar together with a chord book and two sheets of printed songs...

I am feeling the callouses growing at my fingertips but I like it! There is nothing more important than to learn some songs and stage a make believe that we are really good at playing this instrument haha! It is fun to have something new to do without having to spend anything for it anymore... I wonder if there are anything else that I could find around the house that could arouse my interest and could engage us lovebirds.

There is this particular song that we are really so hooked up into right now, a duet, Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now is the title, and this is our ultimate goal to learn how to strum this song and to be able to sing along with the strumming! This is just a 4-chord song but the heck it is just so ambitious! I have already asked my cousin in the Philippines to upload a video tutorial so we could practice this song and perfect it.

Slowly reading on some guitar tutorials online and is hoping that I could keep my interest on it. Fun stuff!

2 Consecutive Days Off!

Excited!

True, one would want something that he doesn't have... I recall my first few days here when I was too excited and expectant to get a job, now that I have one (part-time at that) I couldn't wait to have at least a month's off. Life has been so good to us lovebirds though, can't complain. Time is still of essence. I am still looking forward to our every bonding moment together. There must be some movies that we could watch tonight since neither of us is going to be up early tomorrow... Honey's going to have a football tourney in San Francisco on weekend so if his work would allow we could gather up there and bond, there are great Frisco deals in Facebook that we could check out. The Santa Cruz getaway hasn't been realized yet but hopefully we could get it done sometime on one special occasion...

My two days off are like precious golden moments to me that I should not just let it go to waste. There are not that much cleaning to do around anyway so maybe I could learn new songs to play or finish a book review, Honey has to go to work at 3pm anyway. My long time plan to get serious with Odesk.Com has no future I bet, I am too lazy to take up that readiness test, and besides, I could see a lot of Philippine employers hiring, and that is not too attractive for me... I also have to give Indeed.Com a shot for a full time job, HAVE TO, I have obligations to fulfill and some IOU's and we have to buy us a DSLR and save up for the future. Plans.

I could do more blog posts tomorrow, let me actually update some more, I have more better stories to tell!

Next Pay Day Project

We definitely are in need of a shoe organizer for our room... I have one organizer under the bed but it can only accommodate my shoes, and as I accumulate new shoes and Honey as well, the need for a new house arises. The above shoe organizer is the ideal for somebody like me who doesn't want a lot of things in the room, I could just put it under our study table or beside the TV stand... It would cost around $40 but if I could find the very same masterpiece at Craiglist, I would take it without thinking!

I am not yet sure if the next pay day would allow me to splurge for a new shoe house... will update!

A Young Seductress' Tale

This morning, Honey and I went to the Seafood City (an Asian Business Community) and had lunch at Chowking. There was this little girl and she was with her what seemed to be Asian grandfather and they sat at the table right in front of us. The little girl was tisay, around 8 to 10 years old. I noticed her looking at Honey from time to time, I stared at her while she did her thing in the hope that she would look at me too but to my surprise, she didn't even try to look at my direction AT ALL! Minutes passed and Honey told me that the same little girl was now staring at me, and when I looked at her our eyes met and she held my gaze! She didn't even hesitate to change direction, she locked gaze with me like challenging me or what! Wow! Whats more was, I noticed she was already copying my sitting position, her legs crossed in number 8! Haha! Oh my, I have to watch out for little she devil conscious girls now, their kind could be my future rival in my Honey's eyes but I hope not!

Honey's Birthday is Coming Up!

Two days to go, three days before the party starts...

This is the very first of his birthdays that I would be able to be physically present and celebrate it with him, so there is definitely going to be a little extra going out of the way to please on my part that is going to happen. We are having the party at the house on Saturday, have to invite some relatives and close family friends over. There is a good cleaning to be done, and maybe organizing up a bit to make room for visitors, tomorrow is my dayoff and guess work should start tomorrow.

There is also a need to prepare for additional menus, and I have to take care of the dessert as it is the only area in my cooking capacity that I am confident of. Thinking of making the birthday cake, in either chocolate cake or carrot cake. Also thinking of adding up more sweets by making a bowl of fruit salad, and brazo de mercedes. Mother in law's going to prepare for the rest, and we are expecting some presents in the form of food from relatives... There should be sodas and booze too...

=) Will make the final plan tonight...

Practicing How to Make Curls

Befriending my HerStyler curling iron after all the chores of the day were done. Here is my curly locks update...

I like it! It feels perfect to me! I just have one dilemma though, how do I ever group the curls together so that it appears neat? =( Any idea???

HerStyler Curling Iron

Honey bought me a curling iron last night, haha! He got tired of listening to my rants everytime I see blonde teenagers or just regular teenagers wearing curls! There ya go, one big iron curler for the wife.

I had given up on my hair a long time ago. I discovered I took after my grandmother's not so wonderful hair and mine is just the Lion King or the Tazmania Devil version. For some time when I was in the Philippines, I've always managed to have my hair fixed in the salon, I get to have a rebond treatment for every 8-12 months, that way, my hair could stay manageable and I could just wear it down without further ado everyday. Here in the States though, unfortunately, going to a salon will cost me a lot, so for some time I just settled on pony tails and braids, UNTIL LAST NIGHT!

I just tried my iron curler today and it seems that I need to consult youtube for curling tutorials. I hate it how some girls are just born so stylish and I am not, haha! Nah, I am learning. I should be learning, don't you think? This is the economic times.

Initially, this product is so far okay and I could attest that the curls would hold longer probably up to 6 hours as compared to when using the regular plastic curlers from the olden days. I registered it for warranty just in case because Honey spent $130 for a single curling iron, so so so, I had to be extra careful, especially so because Honey's spending style on this particular product is really out of pattern haha!

Here are just some of the curls that I want, ideally I would really love to wear big curls...

I should be getting on learning how to achieve these big curls so I can wear it to work in Tuesday hehe... I still have to buy me that heat protectant for my hair though. Will update on my curls some time... See ya!
