Karaoke Sessions with My Darling Sweetheart

So it is my lucky day when I married the man of my dreams =) This man so unexpectedly happens to have the richest personality of all and he never fails to makes my heart smile especially when he sings.

During our long distance days, he would sing to me via Skype almost every weekend, sweet isn't it? Now, I am slowly uncovering the real fact that he really does like to sing! What surprises me is that, he knows a wider genre of karaoke music, those songs that I haven't even encountered since!

Last night Honey told me he'd like to sing. I guess we were watching Talladega Nights when suddenly the song Faithfully by the Journey played in the background! He was like, Baby, thats Faithfully! I sang that song Baby! He really sounded excited and all that, so he was like okay, let me sing that song Baby, let us sing that song Baby...

The evidence:

I like it when Honey sings, no matter how I may appear to be not so supportive because usually when he sings, I can't help myself from teasing him, and maybe he is thinking I am not the supportive wife he has been dreaming of! Really...

I was telling him this song Faithfully is really for him though because he is actually hitting the right notes. I think he first sang this song the day before our wedding when his friends threw a bachelor's party for him and they went to this KTV bar in San Francisco. He also sang this during the party on our wedding day when he and more of his friends gathered at home for another round of KTV. I was also telling him that his kinda like too obvious already, singing too much love songs and all that almost everyday, so in love with me. Can't hide his love away huh??? ;)

Oh by the way, this video continues with song the Freedom too - the song we've been practicing together but unfortunately is not found in the karaoke listing :( We are preparing this for the Philippines!

Honey's Nearsightedness

So I thought it is called farsightedness, but I was totally wrong! We were all wrong! To correct, please remember the following vision-related knowledge:

Nearsightedness
is when the eyes focus incorrectly, making distant objects appear blurred.

Farsightedness is difficulty seeing objects that are nearby.

So to correctly establish what I am about to write, my Honeypie was diagnosed with nearsightedness and was given a prescription to get eyeglasses, and until he gets it, he shouldn't be allowed to drive especially at night. The prescription was issued way before I came here in the US though, and we got Honey's eyeglasses before Christmas. So, actually, this is a delayed story but I so want it to be posted here! This one is cute, I promise!

Eyeglasses is expensive in here, or actually, everything that involves getting a consultation from a doctor is expensive! We went to the mall right after or before Black Friday to search for eyeglasses on sale, the cheapest was like $180, and it wasn't Honey's type of frame at all, plus the cost does not include the lenses yet. In the Philippines, you could get an eyeglasses starting from $10, and that is already a decent eyeglasses in there. So right then and there I suggested that maybe we could just buy a frame from the department store and just have the lenses changed at the vision shop, and, unexpectedly, the meticulous sir that is my Honey was cool with it! So here goes the $10 frame...

Cute glasses isn't it? That was exactly the frame that best fits the shape of his face, and I chose it for him. I like it when pink becomes his thing sometimes, it is really cool and clean and yummy, and I don't quite know how to explain that haha! We brought the frame in the vision shop and we chose the lenses. Since Honey needs the glasses for night driving, he was recommended an anti-glare lenses that comes with a special feature. That special feature is all about the color transition of the lenses, for instance the lenses are darker during the day so its like it also functions as sunglasses, and during the night, the lenses are clear and just perfect for night driving. The lenses by the way costs around $180 but its all good since we already went practical with the frame.

For almost a month the glasses came without its proper clothing, it went nude because it didn't come with a hard case since we just picked it from the department store. We decided to buy it its case so we could protect it from scratches, and we finally bought the case on Christmas day, the first hard case that we saw was what we bought... and here it is:

Yes a hello kitty hard case!!! This one was Honey's preference! The design was actually like a little edition of a satchel bag for little girls, but we had to cut the handle to make it more convenient and appropriate for a big man to use. I regret that I didn't take a photo of it when it was still in its original form.

At the moment, Honey also uses his eyeglasses when watching TV. The distance is like 2 meters away from the TV and he says his vision renders blurry images already. At the moment also, Honey is using the eyeglasses during daytime when he is driving, lately, he noticed his vision requires him to use it also during daytime. The eye condition is not improving here. He is planning to get a lasik sometime. Now I remember we should list the lasik surgery in our goals too.

Photography 101

Honey suddenly becomes a slave to photoshop! I think he is obsessed already! To think that both of us only know the basic of all basics! Haha! I told him maybe one of us should study it online, but just this morning it says that the online course would cost about $750! No kidding???!!!

So here it is that all of a sudden he'd like us to get a DSLR camera so he can take good photos. We are currently using this old Olympus digicam, but in my opinion though, and I insist, that the solution is not buying a DSLR, it is learning more about photoshop! He is bothered by the shadow in the photo, and etcetera... Well, who wouldn't be bothered anyway? Okay so it is normal to be bothered by that, but my Honey pays a lot of attention to very small details that it is just so... so... ahmmmm... I can't explain it!

One day, he was looking for a bulb because he thought the photos he took lack a certain lighting. He was trying to take a photo of a phone he is selling in ebay, it has been his little sideline for a while already. So one day, i took photos of what he has been busy with for almost the whole day... This day was his day off from work:

Did you notice a toothbrush? That toothbrush was brand new by the way, he bought it at Safeway --- actually it is a luxury to use it for cleaning his phones because I just bought my toothbrush weeks ago from the dollar tree! How about an eyeglass cleaning cloth? What about the bulb? Do you see how he was carefully wiping the smallest particle of dust away from the phone? How meticulous could my Honey get here? Can you imagine?

Movie Nights

For two weeks now, our bonding has been watching late night movies. It is either we rent a movie or we borrow movies from the library: the latter has proven more efficient compared to the previous of course because it is free and they have 7 days return policy. Honey is really a fan of movies, and I on the other hand most of the time just sleep on movies. Haha! I am trying my best though to stay up with him until the movie finishes, but it already happened twice that we had to continue the movie the following morning or night, depending on the wake up schedule. The thing here is, Honey works from 3pm to 11pm daily, when he gets home we will have our late dinner, then shower, then on to watching a movie by 12 midnight or past midnight. Sometimes he manages to come home early during Wednesdays of Thursdays and we could have the movie earlier.

For documentation purposes, here are some of the movies that we have so far accomplished:

We have 6 DVD's left here, 1 chick flick and the remaining 4 thriller. Mmmmm... This is already getting into my system now...

I Want to Kiss Credit Card Debt Goodbye

Whoever is free from credit card debts raise your right hand? I'd like to let you know that I am envious of you and I applaud you!!! Credit cards are invented to give people financial problems - my opinion, if not yet the majority's opinion. Fact is, I didn't know somebody who is not stuck on just paying the minimum monthly bill because the principal debt amount has ballooned already and it is almost impossible to pay it off, thus settling for the minimum monthly bills which make the banks get even more richer! Credit card companies, mostly banks, leave us card holders almost no room to resolve our credit card debt. Unfortunate.

I first had my credit card, as an extension to my aunt's credit card, that was six years ago and back then I knew my limits. I was earning this much so I'll spend this much.I was also careful on my spending because my aunt could actually see the bill and would critique on my spending. I eventually freed myself from the principal card holder's bondage when some bank sent me a credit card that I did not even apply for. I started losing control since then. This is the story of my credit card demise in the Philippines. I woke up one day and realized I spent for majority of things that are not really needed as compared to the things that are important. Things at home and with the family were the things I considered important because I was the breadwinner in an instant. I went broke, and I didn't like it. I wasn't able to resolve my credit card debt when I left the Philippines, and there goes my mom being bombarded with phone calls from banks and credit card companies almost everyday of her life. Poor mom. She has to learn to switch off her phone during day time just to get rid of the phone calls she has no idea about.

Here in the United States though, there is a need for people to build their credit history, that, owning a credit card is more likely to be a necessity than a luxury. Days ago Honey decided he'd make me an extension to his card so I could build my credit history, and the card came this morning. Honey himself is not free from credit card debt. He has to put it on his goal to be debt free in a year's time from four different credit card companies. Tough life! With the recession and I being jobless for a moment, even reducing these credit card debts is already a very big challenge to overcome! I am glad that I was able to marry a man who knows what to do with money or else I do not know how to manage everything financially.

If there is one thing that I really want to happen right now, it is to kiss credit card debts goodbye. For good.

On Beautifying

For a woman, beautifying is a crucial issue and should not be overlooked at anytime! I just got married, and I am afraid to belong to the group of women who get too comfortable with their partners that they don't take time to beautify anymore than they did back during the dating phase. It certainly kills the romance! This is the reason why I take extra care especially when it comes to my skin. As for me, beauty comes out when I am most comfortable with my skin.

Whoever is not familiar with Cindy Crawford? Oh God she is gorgeous! Spotless. Timeless. Beautiful. I happened to come to this site where she is right there in the homepage, flaunting her beauty thru her awesome skin. This site I'm talking about promotes a complete formula of anti-aging products.

So what about this anti-aging products then? Why talk about it all of a sudden? I am just 27 years old but do I really need to use anti-aging products at this age already? I remember my mom used to tell me to not use anti-aging products because it is not age appropriate yet for me! Funny how some moms misconstrue the word anti-aging here. To be honest,at my age, I am already noticing little amount of wrinkles around my eyes, and some frown lines too. I am the most terrified with these lines to multiply at my age that I use heavy amount of cream daily. I hate to be telling this but I guess I should start using some of these anti-aging products while I can still prevent the signs!

Having known this site is just timely and I am already thinking of trying some of the products that I need. I find the site navigation friendly and I like it because it is so elaborate. When you go to their site, you are set to get to know your skin a lot better and you will surely take the initiative to take care of it while you still have time! Come on now girlfriends, lets try this Cindy Crawford-proven magic!

House Chores

This week is me and Honey's turn with the housework.

My mother in law made an alternating schedule for all of us who lives in this house so everybody gets a load of housework. The thing is, there are six of us here and she realized why is it that at her age she still get to do all of the chores when in fact she can just assign it to us! So here comes the assignments, it comes every 3 weeks and we work by pair. It is basic housecleaning plus the cooking. I'm pretty much cool with this idea because I am liking the cooking experience, but just that its unfortunate that everybody will have to put up with my cooking! I cook real bad, everything I cook is just practice, sometimes I cook the perfect meal but most of the times i don't and i pity my housemates for that hehe. My mom back home did not train me to cook, and I regret the days I didn't seek for her recipes because now I sure need some of her homecooking wisdom! I miss her adobo, it is her specialty amongst all. The secret to her adobo is to put more soy sauce over vinegar, or not to put any vinegar at all then add a little sugar to taste, i just learned this lately, and, over the phone. Ohhhh how I miss my mom's adobo...

Yesterday i cooked soy chicken, it is one whole chicken by the way and I don't feel like eating it! Honey and his mom ate some of it hehe. So next I am planning to cook beef caldereta, I already asked for my favorite Uncle's recipe and I think this one will come out perfect! My uncle is the best cook ---EVER! Then what? Just when I am all set out to cook it, here comes Honey telling me "LETS JUST BUY FOOD BABY". Alright ;)

Online Selling

So? How are you my dear HoneyFied blog??? I'm just so into honeyfication lately, or the lists of HoneyFied to-do's lately, somehow i call it all the same ;) ---and that meant no-blogger-posting for a while. Now here I am trying to be back! I want to be around here often too...

So, finally Honey and I got married! This is the most important part of our story but I'll share more of the few details in another entry, it should not be mixed up in here to put value into that life-changing event...

So so so... I AM JOBLESS! What's been taking my time? Copy-pasting, photoshop, pricing, and posting, and expanding my network! Yes! Online selling, and I am conveniently using Facebook to target my hungry and willing-to-spend Filipino friends! When I got here I have not put my hands into this online selling immediately, I don't know why it took me almost two months to do the pre-order thing online. This has worked for most online sellers and I am positive this will work for me too! I want this online selling to go on even if i get me an official job already. Good thing that I know the Filipino market. My short-term goal for the online selling is to get my first sale before the end of January, and guess what? Goal met! ;)

Let me go back to posting first, but I have more stories to tell!
